Le First Test

I haves decided to try out two parts (which can be found here and here)
The basic set up is
– data input to first shift register
– load signal to all shift registers
– output signal to all shift registers
– tie output enable on all shift registers to +5V
– output pins of shift registers to input pins of transistor arrays
– 12V+ to common of transistor arrays
– 12V+ to + of LED strips
– output of transistor arrays to – of LED strips
– last output of shift register 0 to data input of shift register 1 (repeated for all shift registers)
+5V and GND to power and ground of all chips
Wire up one and see if it works for what I want to do.
First test
– wire up only a transistor array
– tie the input pins to ground through a very large resistor (20K, 50K)
– test by connecting an input pin to +5V
Second test
– wire up a shift register to the transistor array
– tie shift register data input to +5V
– start with load signal and output signal tied to 0V
– alternate load signal between 0V and +5V (up to 7 times)
– touch output signal to +5V
